Alehouse Delivery
POSTED AT THE DRUNKEN GOOSE To all valued patrons,
The management wishes to clarify that an erroneous delivery has recently been made to The Drunken Goose.
This establishment serves honest ale, cider when available, and the occasional questionable small beer. We do not deal in fine Bordeaux wines, however attractively labelled they may be.
Patrons seeking sophistication are respectfully encouraged to remove themselves to Upper Woe, where they may discuss imported grapes amongst themselves.
Should any casks of foreign wine, cheeses of an excessively fragrant nature, silk waistcoats, scented candles, or similarly unnecessary luxuries arrive by mistake, patrons are requested to pay them no attention whatsoever.
Any suggestion that such goods were intended for Sir Edmund de Wode is entirely speculative and has not been confirmed by the management.
Furthermore, the management denies having sampled any of the wine in question.
The management also denies having formed an opinion upon it.
Finally, the management would appreciate it if everyone would kindly stop asking.
Toby Maltspigot Keeper of The Drunken Goose
The management denies everything.
