Horse Hoof Potholes
POSTED AT THE MANOR GATE
To all householders of Middle Woe,
The Office of the Reeve gives notice that the road at the junction of Sheepdip Lane and Pilgrim's Rest is presently impassable owing to an excessive number of horse-hoof holes.
Repairs shall commence as soon as sufficient labour, suitable weather, and willing volunteers can be found.
Until such time, all travellers are directed to proceed by way of Lower Woe.
The Office estimates this diversion shall add no more than fourteen hours to the ordinary journey.
Parishioners are reminded that creating additional holes in the roadway, however satisfying, is strictly prohibited.
