Middle Woe Pinfold
POSTED AT THE MANOR GATE To all householders of Middle Woe,
The Office of the Reeve regrets to announce that the village Pinfold, situated upon Mill Lane, has once again reached full capacity.
Parishioners are reminded that impounded livestock may be reclaimed upon payment of the customary release fee, payable in coin, turnips, or a sufficiently convincing explanation.
The current occupants are recorded as follows:
One sheep (ownership disputed). One pig (ownership denied by all parties). One hen (apparently self-appointed). One goose, which appears to have entered the pinfold voluntarily and has repeatedly declined opportunities to leave.
The Office reminds householders that removing livestock from the pinfold without payment constitutes theft.
Removing livestock by climbing over the wall constitutes theft and poor judgement.
Mr Wattle is requested to reflect upon this distinction.
For the avoidance of future misunderstanding, geese shall not be accepted in payment for other geese.
