Middle Woe Village Bake Off 1286
POSTED AT THE MANOR GATE To all householders of Middle Woe,
The Office of the Reeve regrets to announce that Mistress Dorcas Wattle has been disqualified from this year's Village Bake-Off.
Her entry, submitted under the title "Turnip Surprise," was declared ineligible after the judging panel determined that the surprise remained alive throughout the assessment.
Repeated assurances that it would eventually "settle down" were not accepted.
For the avoidance of future misunderstanding, all Bake-Off entries are expected to be fully cooked prior to presentation.
The Office of the Reeve considers this clarification both necessary and regrettable.
