POSTED AT THE MANOR GATE To all householders of Middle Woe,
The Office of the Reeve has received several enquiries concerning the size of the loaves presently offered for sale by Gilbert Goodfellow, village baker.
Mr Goodfellow has assured this Office that his loaves are not underweight.
They are, he explains, merely "compact."
The Office has entered this explanation into the record.
Parishioners remain free to draw their own conclusions.
