Summer Solstice at Middle Woe
Good morrow, Parishioners,
It has come to the attention of the Parish Council that last night's midsummer fires were, once again, larger than necessary.
Agnes Nettlewood is reminded that the gathering of herbs at midnight is a matter between herself and her conscience. The Parish takes no position on this, and will continue to take no position on this, as it has found this arrangement to be considerably less trouble for everyone involved.
Father Puddlewick wishes it to be known that he was not present at the hill and did not stay until the third hour. Any accounts to the contrary are mistaken.
The geese were out all night and have not explained themselves. Parishioners are reminded that St John the Baptist's feast falls on the 24th of June and that this is the correct and sanctioned reason to be cheerful.
The Parish trusts everyone will bear this in mind next year.
They probably won't.
Respectfully yours,
Middle Woe Parish Council
